PERMAWHITE® will adhere to gloss or semi-gloss paints, existing wallcoverings, ceramic tile and similar glossy surfaces without prior sanding.
Perma-White is available in both Satin and Matt finish. I find it an easy paint to apply either by brush or roller. The paint has good obliterating qualities however I do find it requires a 3rd coat to achieve unified, (depth of colour) finish, especially on walls. This is not uncommon with whites or very light colours in many paint types and is therefore, not a negative observation.
The paint dries to a very hard, durable finish. In most cases it is recoatable after 2 hours. A few of my clients have commented on it strong odour, although I would not consider it to be so. It does have a distinctive odour but it is not unpleasant and soon disperses. I expect it is the biocide agent that gives this paint its unique odour, so I therefore recommend ventilating the work area.
I use Zinsser Perma-White as a standard bathroom and shower room ceiling paint because of is anti-mould growth qualities and durability. It is also a good option for ceilings & walls in kitchens, utility rooms and other high traffic areas where resilience is require. It is tintable and is available in colours from both the BS4800 and RAL colour ranges in off-whites, pastels and colours of medium strengths.
